The European Parliamentary delegation for relations with India lead by Shri Geoffrey Van Orden made a courtesy call on Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje at Chief Minister’s office on Wednesday. During the hour long meeting with Smt. Raje a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed.

The Chief Minister welcomed the delegation to Rajasthan and shared her thoughts about the importance of people to people tie between member nations of European Union and India. Smt. Raje briefed the delegation on the close relations Rajasthan has had with the countries such as United Kingdom, France and Germany.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Rajasthan is now reaching out to the world and would be looking at cultural and economic exchanges with Republics of the Balkans and the Netherlands. Smt. Raje also outlined Rajasthan’s plans for the upcoming Resurgent Rajasthan Summit.

The delegation comprised Shri Pal Csaky, Member of Parliament from Slovania, Shri Jacob Von Weiszacker, Member of Parliament from Germany, Mrs. Neena Gill, Member of Parliament from United Kingdom, Mrs. Cora Van Nieuwenhuizen, Member of Parliament from Netherlands, Shri Alojz Peterle, Member of Parliament from Slovania, Shri Cesare Onestini, Deputy Ambassador of the European Union to India, Ms. Silvia Constantini, First Councilor of Political Affairs, EU and other members of the staff of the European Union.
