Prepare players of international level in state

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that basic infrastructure facilities in sport should be developed in rural and urban areas so that players of national and international level could be prepared in the state.

Smt. Raje was reviewing the progress of the budget announcements of Youth Affairs and Sports department at CMO on Wednesday. She said sports academies should be prepared for the major sports in the state.

The Chief Minister said focus should be made on promoting shooting, archery, horse riding, basketball, volleyball and hockey and specialist coaches should be engaged to provide training in these sports. She also suggested that talent search camps should be organised at divisional headquarter level so that best talent could be encouraged and trained to participate at national and international level.

Smt. Raje said there should be a period for sports in schools to promote students to participate in various games. She said sports medicine and nutrition facilities can also be developed.

The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimvsar informed about the basic infrastructure facilities being prepared in the state.

Principal Secretary Youth Affairs & Sports Shri J C Mahanti gave presentation about the implementation of budget announcements and their progress. Principal Secretary Finance Shri P S Mehra, Secretary Planning Shri Akhil Arora and other officials were present on this occasion.
