Officials should check quality of construction work during field visit

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that senior officers should check the quality of work under construction during their field visit.

Smt. Raje was reviewing the budget announcements of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department at CMO on Monday. She said toilets and houses for BPL in rural areas must have quality construction. She also directed the officials of Panchayati Raj to prepare a workplan so that BPL houses could be constructed through agencies working in affordable housing scheme.

The Chief Minister said every construction work should be properly monitored to prevent the misuse of public funds. She asked to prepare a computer programme which provides access to schemes being run in all Gram Panchayats.
Smt. Raje said schemes meant for the development of Dang, Magra and Mewat regions should be prepared after identifying the critical gaps and criterion should be fixed for it. She directed to prepare visible projects having the vision of holistic development of the particular area. She laid emphasis on schemes related to water, road and school.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to find out all possibilities of convergance of schemes in rural area with Mahatma Gandhi NREGA so that assets of permanent nature could be created using the funds available with MGNREGA.

Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Surendra Goyal, Principal Secretary Finance Shri P. S. Mehra, Principal Secretary Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Shri Shreemat Pandey and other officials were present in the meeting.

CM REVIEWS PROGRESS OF COOPERATIVE DEPARTMENT:

Smt. Raje reviewed the progress of budget announcement for cooperative department. She directed the officials to exercise caution during distribution of Urea and DAP in sensitive districts and make preparation for adequate availability of fertilizers.

The officials informed Smt. Raje that during this financial year short term loan of Rs. 2,617 crore has been distributed to 6.47 lakh farmers till now which is Rs. 847 crore more than Rs. 1,770 crore short term crop loan distributed to 4.48 lakh farmers previous year. They informed that target has been set to distribute Rs. 17,500 crore interest free short term crop loan through Cooperative Banks. For the first time target has been set to provide short term loan to 20 percent new farmers.

The officials informed that 20 new branches of Central Cooperative Banks will be opened in the state and ATM of CCBs will be opened in every district. They informed that workplan of Rs. 10 crore has been sanctioned for construction of new ware houses and Rs. 10 crores for repairing of ware houses constructed earlier.

Cooperative Minister Shri Ajay Singh Kilak, Principal Secretary Cooperative Shri Deepak Upreti, Principal Secretary Finance Shri P. S. Mehra, Registrar Cooperative Shri R. Venkateshwaran and other officials were present in the meeting.
