Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan To Kick Off On December 13

Cabinet CLears Startup Policy, Bio-Technology Policy

The State Cabinet in its meeting on Tuesday gave approval to Rajasthan Startup Policy – 2015 and New Policies for MSMEs and Bio-Technology. Decision was taken to start ‘Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan’ from 13 December, 2015. The Cabinet Meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje.

Talking to media persons after the meeting Social Justic & Empowerment Minister Shri Arun Chaturvedi informed that the new Rajasthan Startup Policy- 2015 has been prepared to promote students and institutional incubation centres having innovative ideas. Target has been set to establish 50 incubator organizations in next five years, to incubate 500 new startups, raising fund of Rs. 500 crore through angel and venture capital and development of one lakh square feet incubation space and to develop innovation based culture in the state.

Shri Chaturvedi informed that the new policy for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises-2015 has many provision including facilitation centres to establish new industries, MSME clusters, Khadi, handloom and handicraft development, cheaper loan, assistance for startups to new entrepreneurs, to provide marketing to products, quality improvement and for rehabilitation of sick industries. The cabinet also cleared Rajasthan Sick Micro & Small Enterprises (Revival and Rehabilitation) Scheme, 2015. The new scheme has been brought for those sick Micro & Small Industries which have been given revival package. Provision has been made for various concessions for public and enterprises.

Shri Chaturvedi informed that the new Bio-Technology Policy has been brought keeping in view the investment and employment generation capacity in this sector. He informed that amendment in Rajasthan Engineering Service (Building & Road Branch) Rules, 1954 was also given approval. After the amendment now engineers of mechanical and electrical branches along with civil branch could be promoted as Chief Engineer based on seniority.

He informed that the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan will be launched on 13 December. Under the campaign 21,000 villages will be selected and water conservation works will be taken up in the next four years. In the first phase target has been set to complete water conservation works in 3,000 selected villages till June 2016. Afterwards 6,000 villages will be selected each year for the next three years. Works of catchment area treatment, drainage line treatment, farm ponds will be taken up in this campaign.

Shri Chaturvedi informed that Karya Chemical & Fertilizers Company Ltd will set up distillery plant in Baran by investing Rs. 367 crore. He informed that now cabinet meeting will be held on second and fourth Tuesday of the month instead of every Tuesday.

Transport Minister Shri Yunus Khan informed that for the first time in the state, Road Safety Awareness Campaign will be launched on 2 October at all the Gram Panchayats. He informed that Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has written letters to the villagers, Sarpanchs, Pradhans, Zila Pramukhs, MLAs, MPs and other public representatives to create public awareness in their areas. He appealed to the media and people to work for success of the campaign to check road accidents.
