Exhibition is going to be a key features of ‘GRAM’

An exhibition is going to be one of the main features of the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM), scheduled to be held in Jaipur from 9 to 11 November this year. A total area of 5000 sqmt indoor and 4100 sq m outdoor space has been earmarked as an exhibition area during the event. Furthermore, an area of 3500 sqmt is earmarked for Animal Husbandry where cattle and livestock will be displayed. A 3000 sqmt area will be used for developing a model of smart farm. This was informed by the Principal Secretary Agriculture Ms. Neelkamal Darbari today.

Principal Secretary Agriculture further informed that the exhibition area will be divided into various categories like Livestock, Agri-Diversification & Retailers, Post Harvest Technologies, Agri Inputs & Protected Cultivation, Organic Farming, Food & Food Processing Technologies, Farm Machinery, Implements and Allied Services, Financial Institution, Irrigation, Plasticulture & Precision Farming.

The knowledge transfer will also play a pivotal role during the three-day agri-exposition. This will be done through a series of conferences, and ‘Kishan Gosthis’. During the three-day exposition there will be sessions on topics like Sustainable & Innovative Agriculture Practices for Doubling Farmers Income; Role of Plasticulture In Next Generation Agriculture; New Age Agri Marketing Solutions for Farmers; Animal Husbandry for Sustainable Livelihood; Opportunities for Agri Tourism in Rajasthan.

The Animal Husbandry Department will organize prize winning competitions for cattle breeders who showcase their high end breeds of animals.

About ‘Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet 2016’ (GRAM):

The ‘GRAM’ is an international event which is being from 9 to 11 November at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) at Sitapura in Jaipur. It is jointly organized by the Government of Rajasthan and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The mega event will be attended by around 50,000 farmers. The primary objective of GRAM is to ensure economic empowerment of the farmers through accelerated yet sustainable growth in agriculture and to double farmers’ income by 2022. In addition to farmers, the global event will also showcase global best practices and best of technologies suited to the agro-climatic conditions of Rajasthan.
