Opening Ceremony of Garden Factory of Hero Motocorp, at Neemrana

Jaipur, October 21. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje said that the business environment in state is now become a matter of excitement globally. “The state government is looking for partners in businesses for development of the state. During my Singapore visit I found potential investors discussing the labour and employment sector reforms initiated by the state,” she said.

Smt. Raje was addressing the opening ceremony of Garden Factory, a manufacturing and packaging complex of the Hero Motocorp, at Neemrana in Alwar district. She congratulated the company for setting up the plant. She hoped that this would motivate more companies to consider Rajasthan for locating their businesses and investments.

In order to provide even more facilities to investors coming to the state the CM announced a convention centre at Neemrana. She further suggested development of a golf course to make this industrial town an interesting place for the business people to work and visit.

Expressing delight on the specialty of the manufacturing plant as a green campus, Smt. Raje said that it was good to know that besides automobiles Hero Motocorp was manufacturing “happiness”. “People do not like to be in dirty, dreary and dry place. They want to be in a place which is comfortable and attractive. We carried out such a makeover in the State Secretariat and other offices because I believe that it would make a difference. By providing facilities to the employees we are going to improve output. If people are happy they would put in more efforts,” she said.

The CM suggested the management of Hero Motocorp to provide skill development facility for the young generation of the region by opening a training centre at this manufacturing plant itself. Sharing her experience of the recently concluded visit to Singapore the CM said that she visited the skill development platforms run within the business premises there.

Smt. Raje said that it was a matter of pride that one of the largest manufacturers of two-wheelers decided to set up its fourth manufacturing unit of the country at Neemrana. The town thus emerged as an industrial hub in the state securing a prominent place on the map of preferred destinations for investment due to ease of accessibility to Delhi, NCR and other markets as well as availability of infrastructure and other facilities.

She said that India’s automobile industry was undergoing a revolution. “Within a span of few years the vehicle market had come up with an array of models and choices. As per a recent report of the CRISIL, India was poised to overtake China as the world’s largest two-wheeler market in next market.”

The CM shared her belief that the government alone could not be the source of livelihoods for the masses. The state government had embarked on skill development journey through private partnership which would add value to employability of the youth. “We are trying to improve the quality of human resource coming out of ITIs in Rajasthan,” she said.

Talking about Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s recently launched Make in India campaign, Smt. Raje said that it also aimed at ease of doing business and focussed on the public-private-partnership (PPP) model. Harnessing the potential of democracy, demography and demand is the key point of this crusade championed by the PM.
Smt. Raje said that now it would be a collective responsibility of both the government and the investors to see that this dream was realized. “With such a focus at national level I assure the businessmen wholehearted support of the state government as facilitator and nurturer,” she added.

The CM further stated that her government was aware of the fact that the procedure to do business needed to be made easier and simpler. Certain old regulations have to be revisited and reforms have to be undertaken to attract investment and create more jobs, she said. “We have already taken definite steps to amend labour laws including changes in the Factories Act, the Industrial Disputes Act, the Apprenticeship Act and the Contract Labour Act,” she added.
Smt. Raje said that the state government recently announced its new investment promotion policy and the solar energy policy. These have caught the imagination of global investors and that even farmers can capitalize on their land and go ahead with generation of power, is something unique, she said.
During the function, Vice Chairman and CEO of Hero Motocorp Ltd Shri Pawan Munjal said that the efforts being made by the state government under the leadership of the CM Smt. Raje would bring a lot more investment in Rajasthan. He said that his company’s complex would be a trend setter for all manufacturing units. In terms of the environment-friendly measures put in place, this plant got platinum rating, the highest, by the IGBS, he said. This workplace had been developed as eco-friendly and green campus to provide a healthy environment for the work, he added.

Prior to the ceremony, the CM visited the plant and saw the complete line of packaging from start to finish. A short film on ‘manufacturing happiness’ was also screened by Heromoto Corp. She also enjoyed the Robocross Performance.

State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Shri Hem Singh Bhadana, Member of Parliament Mahant Chand Nath, Chairman of Hero Motocorp Shri BM Munjal, MLAs Dr. Jaswant Yadav, Shri Ramhet Singh Yadav, Shri Dharampal Chaudhari, Shri Rohitashva Sharma, Shri Maman Singh, Shri Jairam Jatav, Shri Banwari Lal Singhal, Shri Gyandev Ahuja, other officials of the state government and dignitaries were present during the event.
