Chief Minister reviews JDA projects

Jaipur, December 19. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje reviewed different development projects of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) in an important meeting held at the CM Office on Friday.

Smt. Raje saw separate presentations on various development projects of the authority. She directed the officials to prepare a plan in regard to development of utilities in Prithviraj Nagar and Ring Road Project areas and present the same within 10 days. In the view of shortage of water in Amanishah Nullah due to limited rains in Jaipur, she expressed the need for linking of other nearby seasonal streams into it and setting-up of a good number of sewerage treatment plants for its development and beautification.

On development of Amanishah Nullah the presentation was given by Tata Sons. Representatives of the Chinese partner firm of Tata Sons, Shanghai Urban Construction Group, shared details of the development works carried-out on four rivers and streams in the city of Shanghai. The presentation showcased the beautification of an Amanishah like river passing through the urban limits of Shanghai.

The CM further directed for development of Veer Hanumanji Temple in Samode on the lines of Khole ke Hanumanji Temple. While watching the presentation by Design Architect Institute, she instructed for limited construction works in the area in view of the dense forest region. She asked for preparing a master plan for this area for developing facilities like drinking water, stairs, railings, lights, parking and toilets etc for travelers. She also suggested for taking support from the donors for construction of kitchens, bhojanshalas and stayhouses etc.

On Amar Jawan Jyoti, Smt. Raje said, events were being staged only on important occasions. She asked for development of this place in such a way that tourists could stay for longer durations and get more information about the history of martyrs, important wars and war memorials etc. She directed the officials to develop a regular exhibition gallery with the markings of Varrandahs of old Jaipur and also have more frequent displays of light and sound shows. A firm called Urbane gave a presentation on this. The CM further asked the officials to take suggestions from the army officials on this and complete the works on Amar Jawan Jyoti by August 15, 2015.

The Chief Minister also expressed the need for restoration of the old heritage look of Ramniwas Bagh and develop it as a centre of attraction for locals as well as tourists. On the presentation given by Satatva, she asked for re-construction of the Fern House, old fountains, and develop pathways and walk-ways as per the original blueprint of the heritage site. She further suggested for exploring the possibilities of shifting Jaipur Zoo out of this place and plant saplings of different species all around the gardens of Ramniwas Bagh.

In the meeting, another presentation was made in regard to construction of a Convention Centre, including an exhibition centre and a hotel, in about 20,000 square meters at VT Road in Mansarovar on the land plot of the Rajasthan Housing Board. The CM asked for further action in regard to this project. Installation of a big sculpture outside Jaipur Airport was also discussed in the meeting. Smt. Raje suggested for organizing a nationwide online contest in order to select design of the proposed sculpture. She also issued directions for beautification of Police Memorial at Trimurti Circle and installation of decorative road-lights at Rajpath, Bhawani Singh Lane, Bhagwan Das Road and Sahkar Marg from Chomun House Circle upto Lakshmimandir T-point.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Jain, JDA Commissioner Shri Shikhar Agarwal, JDA Secretary Shri Pawan Arora and other officials were present in the meeting.
