Event will be a milestone in development of education in state
Jaipur Festival of Education to Be Held In August
Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that the ‘Jaipur Festival of Education, Rajasthan’ will be a milestone in development of education in the country. She said that the proposed 2-day festival in August 2017 targeted for the teachers, students and educational institutes to have a face-to-face with the innovations and new cutting-edge technologies in education across the world so that these could be adopted here and Rajasthan could attract newer heights in this sector.
Smt. Raje was chairing a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister Residence on Thursday in regard to preparation of the Festival of Education. This is a first of its kind event in the country. Government of Rajasthan and Dubai-based Gems Education Foundation are jointly organizing this festival.
The CM said that Vice Chancellors and others officials of universities, principals and teachers of schools and students from across the country and state would participate in this festival to enter a new age of education. She said that it was urgently required to have ‘out-of-box thinking’ for training of teachers and educating the next generation.
Smt. Raje said that the issues like how to make learning interesting; demystifing science; learning newer trends of technology; what all is possible in agriculture or innovative ways to manage water systems could be deliberated upon in during the various sessions during the festival of education. New ideas and innovations of teaching-learning would be discussed, she said. She added that all this would lead to positivity and enthusiasm in education sector all across, following which doors of employability and skill development would open for the new generation.
The CM said that education could change only when all the stakeholders accept the new ideas and progress in that direction. She said that out of this the young people would be benefitted the most as they would learn newer ideas and technologies from the best of minds of education sector around the globe. When our youth, skilled with new techniques and innovations, work in various sectors such as industry, medical, technology etc, the entire country, the state and the society would be benefitted.
Smt. Raje said that after Jaipur, the festival would be organized in other Divisions of Rajasthan. She directed the officers of Higher Education, College Education and School Education to do preparations for participating in this event. She said that educational institutes and teachers should adopt to the new thinking to make this event a success.
In the meeting, Secretary of Education Shri Nareshpal Gangawar shared the details of objectives of the festival. Chairperson of the event Co-organizer Gems Education Group of India Shri Amareesh Chandra gave a presentation on the festival.
On this occasion, Higher Education Minister Smt. Kiran Maheshwari, Minister of State for Education Shri Vasudev Devnani, Chief Secretary Shri OP Mina, ACS Higher Education Shri Rajhans Upadhyay, ACS Art & Culture Shri NC Goyal, ACS Industries Shri Umesh Kumar, ACS UDH Shri Mukesh Sharma, Principal Secretary Home Shri Deepak Upreti, Principal Secretary Finance Shri PS Mehra, Principal Secretary Planning and IT Shri Akhil Arora, Commissioners and Directors of College Education and School Education, other officers were also present.
