Rajasthan will be branded as touristhub air connectivity will be ectended
Jaipur, January 16. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje said that Rajasthan will be branded as a tourism hub and special efforts will be made for air connectivity of different cities of the state with national and international flights.
Smt. Raje was addressing a meeting of Rajasthan Heritage Development and Management Authority, Tourism Department and representatives of different institutes related to tourism sector at Chief Minister Officer on Thursday.
The Chief Minister suggested that the state agencies would act as facilitator for tourism sector and ensure participation of the private players. To attract tourists to the state, she insisted for improvisation of the infrastructure facilities to support expansion of tourism activities and extensive publicity should be done through social media, websites, information technology and other such facilities.
Smt. Raje said that on the lines of Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan should be developed as a brand on offer for both domestic and overseas tourists. For this, she asked for organising more tourist festivals, fairs and road shows etc. and protecting the heritage of historical forts, havelis, waterbodies, monuments and other places of tourists’ interest through renovation and availability of facilities.
The Chief Minister said that a detailed and extensive map will be prepared spotting different gates, pathways(rastas), chopars and other monumental locations of the Walled City of Jaipur to develop a plan for better tourism facilities without disturbing its heritage and habitat and ensure decongestion of the city in terms of vehicular traffic movement.
In the meeting, participants of the private institutes related to tourism sector gave suggestions for extension of air connectivity in the state by talking to the airlines, enhancing facilities in the royal tourists’ trains, increasing road connectivity of heritage villages and towns, organising Rajasthan festivals in foreign countries, operation of a tourist helpline and development of an overall tourist-friendly environment in the state among other things.
Chief Secretary Shri Rajiv Mehrishi, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Subhash Garg, Principal Secretary Art and Culture Smt. Kiran Soni Gupta, Commissioner Tourism Smt. Gayatri Rathore, CEO and MD of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Shri Amitabh Kant, other officers and representatives of the tourism sector institutes were present in the meeting.
