MoU for setting up Solar Parks of 5000MW capacity signs in presence of Chief Minister
The state government and Essel Infraprojects Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set-up solar power parks of the production capacities of 5,000MW in presence of the Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje at CM Residence on Friday. As per this, investment worth Rs. 4,000 crore is expected in the state.
Managing Director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC) Shri BK Dosi and CEO of Essel Infra Shri Ashok Agarwal signed the MoU on behalf of the state government and the Essel group company respectively. Chairman of Essel Group Shri Subhash Chandra were also present on this occasion. As per the MoU, a joint venture company would be set up for developing solar parks during next four years in a phased manner.
Expressing delight on the MoU, the CM said that Rajasthan was going through transformation and several investors were excited following a series of policy initiatives of the state government. She hoped that besides solar energy production, the Essel group would further invest for manufacturing of solar energy equipments.
Shri Chandra said that investment in Rajasthan was an emotional issue for him, as he belonged to Rajasthan. He thanked the CM for providing this opportunity and assured her that the solar parks would be set-up as per the scheduled. Chief Secretary Shri C.S. Rajan and other officers were present on this occasion.
