Meeting of Adma historical monuments are the symbol of honor and pride for us

Jaipur, 11 August. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that our historical monuments, forts, palaces and museums are the symbol of honour and pride for all of us and we must create an atmosphere of awareness for these so that people feel proud and attached to this heritage.

Smt. Raje was addressing meeting of the governing council of Amber Development and Management Authority (ADMA) here at CMO on Monday. She said school children should be given special booklets and other printed material having information with pictures about these historical monuments so that they feel attachment to these monuments and become friends of these sites.

The Chief Minister said awareness should be created and people specially youth should be educated so that they do not harm and distort the original shape of these monuments. She said people must have feeling in their hearts that these are their heritage and they have to give it to the next generation by conserving protecting it. She said children in school should be aware about the historical importance of these monuments and people must be involved in conservation and maintenance work.

Smt. Raje said our state has forts, palaces, havelis and other monuments in every district. By restoration and proper care this heritage can be converted into attractive tourist places. She said one monument can be restored and conserved as a template and the conservation work of the others can be taken up according to this template. She said the monuments and galleries under the ADMA should be restored and conserved properly in a time bound manner keeping in view the suggestions given by the conservation experts and members of the ADMA.

The Chief Minister said tourism is taking back seat in the state though it has important role in the economic development of the state. World class amenities should be made available at the tourist destinations so that more and more people visit Rajasthan and message of our rich culture and heritage reaches around the world.

Smt Raje said Amber can be developed as a living monument in a manner that it becomes memorable for the visitors. Whole things should be choreographed in a manner and such facilities provided that tourists who come to Amber spent their time from morning to till midnight at this historical place. She said to prepare human resource having proper education & knowledge about the restoration and conservation work post graduate courses related to museology, conservation and restoration could be started in universities and colleges. She also said that open space available at monument like Hawa Mahal for research scholars and museum activities.

During the meeting experts and members of ADMA gave suggestions for the conservation and development of Amber, Nahargarh fort, Jantar-Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall, Kumbhalgarh fort, Chittorgarh fort, Gagron fort at Jhalawar, Bhatner fort at Hanumangarh, Kalibanga, palaces of Bharatpur and other historical monuments.
Apart from members of governing council of ADMA including Vice Chairperson Ms. Mira Mehrishi, member Ms Malvika Singh, Ms Padmini Devi, Ms. Bharti Kher, Ms. Laila Tyabji, Ms. Pheroza Godrej and Ms. Sangeeta Jindal, ACS Infrastructure Shri C S Rajan, ACS Forest & Environment Shri O P Meena, ACS UDH Shri Ahsok Jain, ACS Administrative Reforms Shri Rakesh Verma, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Subhash Garg, Principal Secretary Tourism, Art & Culture Shri Shailendra Agarwal, Director Tourism Shri Vikram Singh and Director Arecheology & Museum Shri Hridesh Kumar were present in the meeting.
