Abhay Command Centre for safe Rajasthan through Smart Policing

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has inaugurated a high-tech and state of the art Abhay Command Centre as an initiative for smart policing at Jaipur on Thursday. On the occasion of opening of this centre at Jaipur Commissionerate Headquarters, she said that this was a step in the direction of making Jaipur a smart city and it would keep Rajasthan ahead of many other states in modern policing to ensure a Safe Rajasthan.

Smt. Raje said that by June this year all other six Divisional Headquarters would have such command and control centres. In the next phase, district headquarters would also be connected to these. This would help in better traffic or crowd management as well as crime control, she said.

The CM said that with this initiative Rajasthan had taken a lead in modernization of police and use of information technology in policing amongst the league of states like Maharashtra, Uttarpradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh etc. She said that the policemen and officers should also mould their behaviour and their functioning should be public-friendly so that the commoners not only trust them, but remain fearless and take pride of the state police. She also suggested for making general public visit the Command Centre.

At this command and control centre managed with the support of Department of Information Technology, the Jaipur Police would capture high-quality videos, do video surveillance, call recording, vehicle tracking, crowd management, crime detection and monitoring of crime scene. Videos, call records and other data available at the centre could be analysed for identification or tracing criminals, forensic investigation, traffic management, crime detection and control of criminal activities against women.

During the inauguration function, the CM also launched Intelligent Traffic Management System and 100-Men Barrack at Jaipur Police Lines from the Command Centre itself. She also laid foundation of another new 200-Men Barrack.

On this occasion, Home Minister Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Shri Arun Chaturvedi, Jaipur Mayor Shri Ashok Lahoti, Member of State Legislature Shri Mohan Lal Gupta, Director General of Police Shri Manoj Bhatt, Jaipur Police Commissioner Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Principal Secretary Home Shri Deepak Upreti, Principal Secretary IT Shri Akhil Arora, ADGs of Police, other officials of police and civil administration were present.
