CM Watches Army Show for Flood Rescue And Relief Works
Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje watched an Indian Army show for flood rescue and relief works at Kishor Sagar lake in Kota on Friday, on the eve of Independence Day. During this, the bravehearts of army exhibited their skills and actions ensuring safe rescue of the persons trapped in disastrous situations.
Minister for Investment and Trade of South Australia Shri Martin Hamilton Smith, who would be the Guest of Honour of the state-level Independence Day celebrations event at Kota, Minister of State Babulal Verma and Krishnendra Kaur Deepa, Member of Parliament Shri Om Birla, MLAs from Kota Division, Chief Secretary Shri C.S. Rajan, DGP Shri Manoj Bhatt, other senior officials and public representatives were also present on this occasion.
Soldiers of Indian Army presented live demonstration of the rescue operations during natural calamities like heavy rains or floods. These activities included rafting, boating for rescue, immediate relief to a drowning or sick persons, rescue operations during day or night, against heavy pressure of flowing water. Other activities showcased during the event included water sports, water skiing, surfing in rivers and seas etc.
Major General C.E. Fernandez, GOC of 18 Infantry Division and Colonel P.M. Kohli of 33 Armour Division of India Army welcomed the CM on this occasion. They gave an introduction about the rescue and relief operations by the army during natural calamities.
The Chief Minister also visited the exhibition of modern armory of the army at Art Gallery. She talked about the functioning, operations and capabilities of these arms. She also watched a visual presentation of the arms’ operation.
At Home: 12 talented persons felicitated
Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje also participated in the At Home event at RAC Headquarters Complex organised on the eve of Independence Day. During this, she felicitated 12 persons from different parts of the state for their exemplary contribution in various fields. She also listened to the attractive tunes from the Police Band at AmarNiwas Garden. Minister for Investment and Trade of South Australia Shri Martin Hamilton Smith was also present on this occasion.
