Asks For Additional Financial Aid For Rajasthan
New Delhi/Jaipur, July 2. The Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has requested the Union Minister of Finance Shri Arun Jaitley for additional financial assistance for Rajasthan from the centre in view of the special geographical conditions of Rajasthan, the biggest state of the country.
Smt. Raje met the Union Minister at his office in New Delhi on Wednesday. She informed Shri Jaitley about the poor fiscal health of Rajasthan due to financial mismanagement by the previous government during past five years. She asked for the centre’s support to improve upon this.
The Chief Minister also suggested the Finance Minister to protect interests of the states while imposing the Goods and Services Tax (GST). She further assured the centre to extend full support from her government in implementing the GST regime.
Chief Secretary Shri Rajiv Mehrishi and Principal Secretary Finance Shri Subhash Chandra Garg also accompanied Smt. Raje during this meeting.
