Union Budget To Lay Foundation For Economic Reforms In Country In Country

Jaipur, July 10. The Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje while welcoming the Union Budget-2014, termed it as a progressive budget in view of the abysmal fiscal state of affairs inherited by the Modi Government. She said that it would lay the foundation for economic reforms in the country and show positive results very soon.

Smt. Raje is of the view that the proposals in the Budget-2014 had potential to lead the country for an industrial revolution, put effective control on inflation and a commitment to fulfil the peoples’ hopes. It would prove to be a visionary blueprint of economic and infrastructural development of the country. She observed that in the budget several efforts had been made to reduce fiscal deficit and to put forth the country back on the path to economic growth and development.

The Chief Minister said that Budget-2014 presented by the Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitely on Thursday was a commitment to raise the economic growth to 7-8 per cent. Raising the limit of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in insurance and defence sectors to 49 per cent was a bold decision, she opined.

Smt. Raje also welcomed proposals for strengthening infrastructure in road, urban, rural and agriculture sectors and the announcement for establishing a central agriculture university and ultra mega solar power project in Rajasthan. She also praised the announcement of National Heritage City Development and Improvement Scheme and inclusion of Ajmer under the scheme.

The Chief Minister congratulated Shri Jaitley for presenting a great budget and welcomed the proposed improvements in the MNREGA scheme. These amendments would help in creation of meaningful and profitable employment as well as strengthen infrastructure in rural areas, she added.

She also appreciated the allocations made in the budget for social and economic development of border villages.  She said that launching of Skill India project would create new job opportunities for the young people.

Smt. Raje applauded the proposals for reduction of customs & excise duty and providing house to everyone by 2022. Raising bar for the personal income tax too would benefit crores of salaried persons, she added.
