Constructive efforst necessary to live up to expectations of consumers

Jaipur, March1. The Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje called upon the DISCOM Field Engineers to work collectively and make constructive efforts to ensure quality power supply to the consumers. “If you set aim to live up to the expectations of the people, you will succeed in achieving your goal”, she said.

Smt. Raje was addressing the conference of the Rajasthan Discom Field Engineers here at HCM, RIPA on Saturday. She said a roadmap should be prepared to set up 11 KV, 33 KV or 132 KV sub stations according to the requirement of the specific regions. She also emphasized on the use of latest techniques that were being used around the country and the world for Feeder Renovation.

The Chief Minister said our first priority was to bring the Feeder Renovation Programme on the track to ensure uninterrupted power supply and reduce the distribution losses. She said during our last regime we had started Feeder Renovation Programme for quality power supply and the results had been positive but due to the negligence in the past five years we had reached on the same position from where we started. She  observed that States that were behind had surpassed us and now it was the challenge before us to fill the gap and move ahead.

Smt. Raje while emphasizing on promoting information technology and innovations said electricity bills should be charged in the manner that consumers could easily understand the information given in the bills. She also laid emphasis on improvement in billing system, organization of Vidyut Chaupals on regular basis and organizing meetings with public representatives at the division and district level.

The Chief Minister said with the dedicative work of Team Rajasthan the State would once again become number one in power, water, industry, road, education and other sectors.

The brain-storming session on Feeder Renovation at the conference continued for four hours in the presence of the Chief Minister. Smt. Raje asked engineers and feeder managers to put forward various issues relating to Feeder Renovation and keenly listened to their suggestions.

The Energy Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said time bound programme had been prepared and work started to strengthen the power network. The chairman of DISCOMS Shri R. G. Gupta gave presentation regarding future plans and feeder renovation programmes to be undertaken for sixteen months. He informed that the survey for feeder maintenance in the State would be completed till March 31.
