Ascertain adequate power supply in Rabi season

Jaipur, 05 November. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has directed the officials of power distribution companies to ascertain adequate power supply according to demand for the Rabi crop so that farmers do not have to face any problem.

Smt. Raje was addressing the review meeting of energy department at CMO on Wednesday. She directed for release of remaining agricultural connections of the current financial year. She also asked to bring down distribution losses and streamline the electricity supply.

Reviewing the plan prepared by power companies to ascertain 24 hour domestic power supply ir rual areas she asked for time bound execution of the plan so that 24 hours supply could be provided in the rural area. She said special vigilance should be kept to check accidents and also asked for proper maintenance of equipments and electricity lines.

Energy Secretary Shri Sanjay Malhotra informed that work for tightening of loose wires, straightening of tilted poles, reconditioning of single and three phase distribution transformers, installation of roaster switches and circuit breakers is in progress and it will bring down the time of feeder change from 30-40 minute to 5 minutes. He informed that the power companies are ready to supply proper electricity in Rabi season.

Minister of State for Energy Shri Pushpendra Singh, Chief Secretary Shri C. S. Rajan, Principal Secretary Finance Shri P S Mehra, Secretary Water Resources Shri Ajitabh Sharma, Advisor Energy Department Shri R. G. Gupta and Ajmer and Jodhpur Discom MD were present on this occasion.
