State ITIs To Be Revamped With Help Of ITE Singapore; Document of Acceptance Signed In CM’s Presence

Jaipur, October 14. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje visited the Institute of Technical Educational (ITE), Singapore on second day of her official tour to the city sate on Tuesday. In her presence, Principal Secretary, Industries, Govt. Of Rajasthan, Smt. Veenu Gupta signed a document of acceptance with ITE, Singapore to transform technical training in Rajasthan starting with ITI, Udaipur.
ITE Singapore is the principal provider of career options and technical education and also principal authority in developing national occupational skill certification and standards to enhance Singapore’s workforce competitiveness. ITE, established in 1992, has an impressive track record in employment and 96% of the pass outs are employed earning a mean monthly salary of $ 2400. A significant number of graduates go on to become successful techno-entrepreneurs. ITE, through its education services wing, provides consultancy and customized training and testing services.
The state government has already engaged with ITE and intends to develop ITI, Udaipur as a model of excellence. The offer document signed will be followed by an ITE team visiting Udaipur and drawing up the scope of work and other deliverables.
Chief Minister and members of the Rajasthan delegation had detailed interactions with the ITE team on skill development and employability issues in Rajasthan. The discussions revolved around how to add value to government ITI’s including improvement of infrastructure and software. Skill gaps and how to bridge them, re-designing ITI courses, training of trainers, making apprenticeship training more attractive and creation/development of Champion ITI’s of global standards are some of the issues deliberated upon. Raje was shown the extensive training facilities available with ITE.
Smt. Raje was accompanied by the members of business delegation and senior officials of the government and the High Commission.
