Cisco India Summit: Innovation In The Digital Era

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that our vision is to digitally empower every citizen of the state to enhance their quality of life and become innovation and knowledge hub of the country.

Smt. Raje was speaking as a Chief Guest at Cisco India Summit here at SMS Convention Centre on Tuesday. She said digital Rajasthan is a powerful platform to realise this vision and make Rajasthan as a role model for digital transformation. She said the Govt. of Rajasthan is committed to translating this vision into reality, utilizing the newly announced initiatives of Digital India, Smart City, Skill Development, Smart Grids etc. She said our government is highly committed to provide efficient, reliable and transparent government with the mantra of Good Governance – ‘SuRaaj’.

She invited the IT industry to rise, participate and support whole heartedly to this endeavour of promoting Digital Rajasthan and assured that the Government was commited to bring about this evolution in Rajasthan. She said that IT industry will be a catalyst for our mission to achieve the new heights in Digital Rajasthan. She said Smart City project of JDA and Rajasthan Smart Grid initiative of Energy Department shall prove to be steps forward ensuring a ‘Smarter Jaipur’.

The Chief Minister said Rajasthan is the first state in the country to have implemented an integrated and unified e-Governance Framework. She said 35,000 nodes of e-Mitra are extending the reach of Government to practically every doorstep in Rajasthan. When service delivery is becoming a priority for states across India, Rajasthan is already a ground breaker ensuring service delivery, she said.

Smt. Raje said we have the best in class infrastructure for video conferencing till every Panchayat Samiti in Rajasthan, making us a pioneer in this field as well and ensuring that reaching out to the Government is free from geographical boundaries and distances.

The Chief Minister said Bhamashah Yojana has brought Rajasthan to the forefront of Financial Inclusion and Women Empowerment. With around 3.5 Crore enrolments and more than 90 lacs transactions, amounting to more than Rs 650 crores the scheme is becoming much popular. She said Rajasthan has been able to effectively leverage Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) as a component of Bhamashah. She said our focus on Human Capital is paying rich dividends in terms of Rajasthan becoming a thriving hub for Start-ups.

Principal Secretary, Energy Shri Sanjay Malhotra said, to fulfill the dream of Chief Minister to make ‘Digital Rajasthan’ the Energy department has embarked upon a comprehensive and scalable Smart Grid initiative with the objective of providing a reliable, stable and efficient grid.

Jaipur Development Commissioner Shri Shikhar Agarwal said the vision of Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje will help catapult the state to the forefront of the digital revolution. He said the experience and expertise of Cisco will benefit the Smart City project.

While welcoming the guests in the beginning Cisco India President Shri Dinesh Malkani said, Rajasthan can be a digital hub under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje. He said Rajasthan is the first state to take initiatives for ‘Digital Rajasthan’ under Prime Minister’s Digital India programme.
