CM makes several announcements in state Legislative Assembly

Jaipur, January 29. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje made several  announcements,while giving reply to the debate on thanksgiving motion of the Governor’s address in the State Assembly here on Wednesday:-

Rajasthan Sub-ordinate and Ministerial Staff Selection Board

Smt Raje said that as per declaration in the Suraj Samkalp 2013, an independent Rajasthan Sub-ordinate and Ministerial Staff Selection Board would be constituted. She informed thatNotification to this effect would also be issued today.  State Government’s earlier decision of forming the Board in 2008 was discarded by the previous government.

New Service Rules for TSP Area

The Chief Minister said that to ensure better representation of local tribals in the government services and for permanent solution of the problem of vacant posts in the Tribal Sub Plan Area, new service rules would be implemented for posts of subordinate and ministerial staff in this area. As this rules come into force, no employee selected for the posts in TSP region would  be transferred to any other vacancy in the state. The new rules would  be issued today itself, she added.

Hurdles of TET to be removed

Smt Raje informed that a sub-committee had been constituted for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). She observed that as recommendations of this committee were received, after due deliberations required reforms would be undertaken to remove all hurdles in the TET. Instead of two, the candidates would have to give only one examination for selection as teacher. She said that as TET was required for the private schools as well under the Right to Education, this would be implemented across the state.  This would ensure employment of over 20,000 candidates as Third Grade Teachers of Level-I, she pointed out.

STC seats to be increased

The Chief Minister said that presently, there were 14,970 seats for training course of candidates for STC in both public & private institutes. For year 2014-15, number of seats in all government training institutes would increase from 50 to 100 and same for the private institutes.She said that required basic infrastructure was also available for these courses.

Armed Battalion for Tribal Area

Smt Raje announced that as per declaration in Suraj Sankalp 2013, an Armed Battalion would be raised in the name of the great warrior of Rajasthan and pride of India ,  Maharana Pratap. She said that headquarters of this battalion would be in Pratapgarh and 1000 youths from the TSP region be inducted into it.

Pension for MISA prisoners

The Chief Minister said that in 2008 pension rules were notified for the Rajasthan MISA prisoners and DIR prisoners. As per this, Rs 6000 were to be given as pension along with Rs 600 as medical assistance. She said that the previous government scrapped this scheme in 2009. Now, this pension scheme had been revived after the decision taken in the Cabinet Meeting held on 3rd January , 2014.

Relief for forest regions

Smt Raje said that in the year 2013, the previous government amended the Rajasthan Forest Act , 1953 to increase the penalty amount for minor offences like grazing cattle, cutting grass in forest areas from Rs. 500 to Rs. 25,000. This led to difficulties in day today affairs of the tribals.She stated that looking to the problems of people residing in tribal regions  the State Government had decided to re-amend the Act and reduce the penalty amount back to Rs. 500 for such offences.
