Talks on expanding partnership in producing olive and dates

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje met the Isreali Ambassador to India Shri Daniel Carmon in New Delhi on Friday. She held discussions with Shri Carmon on several issues related to agriculture and dairy development sector and exchange of techniques.

The CM said that due to similarities in climatic conditions in Rajasthan and Israel, both the partners could play important role in partnering for development of agriculture sector. She told Israeli envoy that his country could provide support in operations and management of Olive Oil Refinery established at Lunkaransar in Rajasthan. Support could also be extended for training of the local staff.

Smt. Raje sought from Israel to provide ‘Table Purpose Variety’ of olive saplings, so that its production could also start in Rajasthan. She further demanded for arranging special training programmes for horticulture production and asked the Embassy to help in finalizing the proposals for these events.

The CM also requested Israel to provide support in setting-up three new Centres of Excellence at Jhalawar, Tonk and Dholpur in Rajasthan as per the ‘Indo-Israel Action Plan Phase-2’. She asked the Ambassador that his country should support Rajasthan in dates production so that new technologies and equipments could be arranged for post harvest management of dates crops.

Smt. Raje told Shri Carmon that the Tourism Department of the state government was willing to organize a road show of the tour operators in Israel through the country’s Embassy. This show would be an important event for both the partners, she said. Tourism Department was expecting support from the Embassy for a Travel Mart proposed to be organised in Israel in February 2016, the CM added.
