Budget reflects the Union Government’s intent to work for poor, farmers and youth

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has welcomed the Union Budget presented in parliament by Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley on Wednesday.
“This budget is the ideal reflection of the Union Government’s intent to work for the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth and women,” she said.

Smt. Raje said that the announcement of Mission Antyodaya under which the Government has set target to bring one crore households out of poverty by 2019, reflects that poor especially in rural areas are in the top priority of the Union Government under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. She said that the massive increase in capital expenditure should lead towards infrastructure growth and will create more jobs for our youth.

Chief Minister also said announcement of Rs. 10 lakh crore as credit to farmers with 60 days interest waiver, enhancement of Long Term Irrigation Fund already set up in NABARD from Rs. 20,000 crore to Rs. 40,000 crores, Dedicated Micro Irrigation Fund with NABARD with an initial corpus of Rs. 5000 crores, setting up of Mini Labs in all 648 Krishi Vigyan Kendras for soil sample testing are indeed welcome steps for farmers.

Smt. Raje expressed her pleasure at the steps taken to boost skill development and tourism. She said, announcement to extend Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Kendras to more than 600 districts across the country and to establish 100 India International Skills Centres are not only pathbreaking but also an investment to secure the nation’s future.

The Chief Minister also welcomed the announcement to establish Strategic Crude Oil Reserve at Bikaner and setting up of Five Special Tourism Zones in partnerships with the States and the launching of Incredible India 2.0 campaign.

Smt. Raje said, reduction of existing rate of tax for individuals between Rs. 2.5 lakh to 5 lakh from 10% to 5% will provide relief to medium class. She commended the Central Government led by PM Shri Narendra Modi on presenting a forward looking budget.
