Jaipur To Become Not Only A World Class But Also A Wonder City

CM Lays Foundation For 14 Projects Worth Rs. 2,229 Crores

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that we do not believe in showing dreams but we are expert in fulfilling those dreams. She said state is facing dirt for the last 60 years and now we all have to work on the mission of cleaning this dirt and making Rajasthan a clean and shining state. She said JDA was facing financial crunch when we formed the government but in the last 2.5 years development works of worth Rs. 4,252 crores have been sanctioned and works of worth Rs. 1500 crore have been completed till now. By 2018 Jaipur shall not only become a world class but a wonder city, she said. If we work as a team we will be able to change the scenario of Jaipur city and Rajasthan as well, she added.

Smt. Raje was addressing the gathering after laying foundation for 14 projects worth Rs. 2,229 crore including Rejuvenation Project of Dravyavati River here at Birla Auditorium. She also laid foundation through remote for construction of Elevated Road from LIC Building to Sodala, RoB at Sitapura, Dantli and Jahota, Engineering Staff Training Institute, Expansion of Bridge near World Trade Park, Project for Development of 100 parks, Kishanbagh Forestry Project, Galtagate Forestry Project, 200 Bio-Diversity Forest, Silvan Park Phase-2, Global Centre of Excellence, Smart Solution Phase-2, Light House and Shankara Eye Hospital Project.

Smt. Raje on this occasion said Dravyavati River was a boon for Jaipur but today it has converted into a polluted nullah. Our government has initiated to bring back the lost grandeur of this life line of Jaipur. She said Jaipur Development Authority, Tata Projects Ltd. and Shanghai Urban Construction Group will complete this ambitious project of rejuvenation worth Rs. 1676 crores. She said 170 MLD waste water would be treated and fall centres will be set up at 100 places for the regular flow of the water throughout the year. She said the adjoining area of the river will be converted into green belt and 16,000 plants would be planted in 66 thousand square meter area. She said Walk-Way, Jogging Park, Commercial Park, Eco-Park, Nature Trail and Floating Park would also be developed in this project. The project is scheduled to complete by 2018.

The Chief Minister said the elevated road from LIC building to Sodala will provide corridor for traffic of east and waste. The six lane RoB being constructed in Sitapura, 900 meter long RoB at Dantli and 785 meter long RoB at Jahota will provide relief to people from traffic jam at railway crossing. To provide training to engineers and technical staff of PWD, Water Resource and PHED under one roof work has been taken up to construct Engineering Staff Training Institute, she said. After development of 48 hectare where eco-trail, micro habitat would be constructed the area will increase the beauty of Jaipur, she added.

Smt. Raje said the development of Silven Park at Agra road will give the view of central park and enhance the beauty of the surrounding area. Water conservation structures, walking track and poly house will be developed in 103 hectare area. Development of Global Innovation Centre of Excellence shall help in promoting of smart technique for lighting and parking facilities, she said. The Shankara Eye Hospital to be constructed at Vidyadhar Nagar shall provide facility of treatment for BPL families living in nearby area, she added.

The Chief Minister on this occasion said on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) the government agencies and people of Jaipur will start mass cleaning drive in Jaipur city. She appealed to the people of Jaipur to come forward and help in this drive to make Jaipur a clean city. She urged citizens to throw waste properly in dustbins and plant more and more trees to keep the city clean and green.

The Urban Development Minister Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and Chairman of Tata Group Shri Cyrus Mistry also addressed the function.

Higher Education Minister Shri Kalicharan Saraf, Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Shri Arun Chaturvedi, Jaipur MP, MLAs of various constituency and other dignitaries were present in the function.
