Chief Minister launches National Urban Health Mission

Jaipur, December 13. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje launched the National Urban Health Mission in the state at Government Godawari Devi Jaju Hospital, Topkhanadesh, Jaipur, on Saturday, on the occasion of the first anniversary of her assuming office.

Smt. Raje also inaugurated a health camp for diabetes and cancer screening jointly organized by the Medical & Health Department and Soni-Manipal Hospital. During this, she talked to the patients who came to participate in the health camp for medical diagnosis and tests.

Under the National Urban Health Mission, 102 Primary Urban Health Centres would be established in the state for improvement of health and medical services. For this, budget of Rs. 75.55 crore have been sanctioned. Under this mission, 19 primary health centres too would be opened in Jaipur.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged-off a 108 Ambulance. With this, 21 new vehicles joined the ambulance services in the state on Saturday. Presently, 649 vehicles are operating all across the state for the 108 Ambulance Services.

Health Minister Shri Rajendra Rathore, Higher Education Minister Shri Kalicharan Saraf, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, City Mayor Shri Nirmal Nahta, Principal Secretary Medical and Health Shri Mukesh Sharma, Chairman of Soni-Manipal Hospital Shri Swaminathan were also present on this occasion.
