Investment And Partnership Possibilities Discussed

A delegation led by Minister of Works Malaysia DATO’ SRI Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof met Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday at Chief Minister’s office.

During an hour long meeting with the delegation Smt. Raje said Rajasthan is moving ahead on the path of development and it has emerged as the ideal investment destination. She said our government has taken up various programmes for infrastructure development and the state was looking for PPP partner who have required technical expertise and financial resources.

She invited Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, a statutory body working under the Ministry of Works, Malaysia to invest and engage in construction of highways and Jaipur Metro Phase-2. She said under Affordable Housing the state government has set the target to construct 15 lakh houses in the next three years and Malaysian companies can become partner in construction of houses. She said Rajasthan also has immense potential in tourism sector.

The officials of Public Works Department informed that proposals related to construction of 3500 kilometer highways in six packages worth Rs. 8200 crore has been put before CIDB and we are waiting for concrete proposals from CIDB. The company has expressed interest in swiss challenge route, said the officials of PWD.

Ambassador of Malaysia to India Datuk Naimun Ashakil Bin Mohammed, Minister of Public Works Department Shri Younus Khan, UDH Minister Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Chief Secretary Shri C. S. Rajan, ACS UDH Shri Ashok Jain, Principal Secretary PWD Shri D. B. Gupta, CEO of CIDB Malaysia DATO’ SRI IR Dr. Judin Bin Abdul Karim, Deputy Director General of Malaysia Highway Authority IR Mohammed Saleh Bin Sathiman and other members of delegation were present during the meeting.
