Financial Inclusion – Bhamashah Yojna 2014
In 2007-08, Rajasthan embarked on empowering women by ensuring that benefits are directly transferred electronically to bank accounts in the name of the lady of the household. This in fact was the first Direct Benefits Transfer Scheme in the country. However, the successor government did not see it fit to carry this forward.
Now, the restructured Bhamashah Scheme 2014 will provide end-to-end IT enabled service delivery platform, through which cash and non-cash benefits would be delivered to all residents though a biometrically secured process.
Effective convergence with the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is being ensured for taking financial inclusion to every nook and corner of the State.
