Rajasthan Government Signs MoUs Worth Over Rs. 550 Crores In The Tourism Sector
Continuing with the momentum to attract investment into the State, the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan signed 55 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) worth Rs. 586.29 crores today at Khasa Kothi in Jaipur.
In the presence of Minister of State for Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Smt Krishnendra Kaur and Principal Secretary Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Shailendra Agarwal – the Director of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Anil Kumar Chaplot signed the MOUs on behalf of the Department. The MOUs signed today will provide direct employment to 5392 people in the State.
Speaking at the occasion the Minister of State for Tourism said,
“These MOUs were signed as a follow up to the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit organized in November last year. I am happy to announce that during and after Resurgent Rajasthan Summit we have signed a total of 221 MOUs worth Rs 10,407.94 crores which will create an expected employment to 40,765 persons in the State. The department will facilitate the projects to get the clearance or certification if required.”
It is to be noted that 20 MOUs of over Rs. 1174 crores were signed under the Tourism sector in the presence of Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt Vasundhara Raje on February 27.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary Tourism said that the projects for which the MOUs have been signed will be implemented within next 2 to 3 years. The projects range from hotels and motels to resorts and museum and amusement parks. After execution of these projects there will be enough rooms in the State to accommodate the increasing flow of tourists.
