Rajasthan Signs 51 MoUs Worth Over Rs. 11,000 Crores In Industry, Agriculture, UDH, Mining And Tourism
The Rajasthan Government here today signed 51 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) for projects worth over Rs 11,531 crores and slated to create 26,678 jobs in the sectors of Industry, Agriculture, Urban Development & Housing (UDH), Mining and Tourism.
The MoU Signing Ceremony was presided over by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje. Also present on the occasion were the Industries Minister, Shri Gajendra Singh; the Agriculture Minister, Shri Prabhu Lal Saini; the Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Smt Krishnendra Kaur (Deepa); the Minister of State for Mines (Independent Charge), Shri Raj Kumar Rinwa and the Chief Secretary, Shri CS Rajan.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion the Chief Minister said,
“During the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit, we signed 295 MoUs amounting to Rs 3.21 lakh crores cutting across sectors. Our aim is to keep the momentum going and continue to facilitate investment in the state.”
Chief Minister further added,
“To strengthen the support being extended to the investor community, a diligent review mechanism has been established at all levels. Ours is a commitment to handhold the project throughout the investment lifecycle.”
Smt. Raje also expressed her satisfaction that the investment commitments received by the State were beyond the traditional industrial locations in the state. This was the outcome of constant consultations with the investor partners, she said.
The proposal received for the projects are spread all over the State like Jaipur, Bikaner, Alwar, Neemrana, Kota, Baran, Sawai Madhopur, Udaipur, Kishangarn, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Masuda (Ajmer district), Chittorgarh, Mordi (Banswara district), among others.
She further said,
“All our efforts are targeted towards securing the objectives of our development model – social justice, effective governance and job creation.”
It is to be noted that the State Government has already cleared investment proposals worth Rs. 12,493 crores in the past two years. It has also cleared investment proposals worth Rs. 4,452.81 crores since the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit in November 2015.
The projects, for which MoUs were signed today are expected to create employment for over 25,000 people across the state, and will be developed in partnership with the different Government Departments like Industries, Urban Development and Housing, Mines, Tourism, Agriculture and Mining as well as Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO).
Some of the major projects for which the MoUs were signed today are : cement plant with captive power plant worth Rs. 3,000 crores at Chittorgarh (M/s. Rajputana Properties Pvt. Ltd.); Expansion of cement plant worth Rs. 1,500 crores at Chittorgarh (Wonder Cement Ltd.); Spinning of Yarn worth Rs. 1,100 crores at Mordi in Banswara (Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd.); Affordable Housing worth Rs. 650 crores at Kota (VBHC Value Homes Pvt. Ltd.); Processing of Rare Earth Oxide worth Rs. 500 crores at Barmer (Ramgad Mineral & Mining Limited); Housing worth Rs. 450 crores at Neemrana in Alwar (Kingdom Estate Pvt. Ltd.), among others.
Amongst the projects is the transfer of City Gas Distribution rights, presently authorised to GAIL Gas Ltd, to Rajasthan State Gas Limited (RSGL) through an investment of Rs 400 crore that will pave the way for opening of CNG corridor between Kota & Jaipur and Kota-Baran-Jhalawar besides providing green and clean energy to the industrial clusters at Baran and Jhalawar including adjoining areas of Kota.
Earlier in his welcome speech, Chief Secretary, Shri CS Rajan said, “Out of the 295 MOUs signed during the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit in November last year, in 285 cases the investors had indicated their land requirement. We have already identified land for 239 projects. Land allotment or land conversion has happened for a large number of these.”
In her vote of thanks Principal Secretary Industries, Smt. Veenu Gupta said that we are vigorously following the projects signed to bring them on the ground.
