CM directs officials to extend help to Rajasthani tourists in Andaman & Nicobar Islands
After receiving information about tourists trapped in some Islands of the Andaman-Nicobar on Wednesday afternoon, Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje directed the officials of the State Disaster Management Department to extend help if they get information about any Rajasthani tourist trapped there.
Smt. Raje asked officials to remain in contact with the officials of the National Disaster Management Authority and Andaman-Nicobar Island Administration.
The State Disaster Management & Relief Department in a press release informed that a warning had been issued regarding storm at some Islands of the Andaman and Nicobar. Initially NDMA had received information that 1000 tourists had trapped at Havelock Island and around 450 tourists at Neil Island. The Central Government had immediately sent four ships of Indian Navy and rescue operation had started on Wednesday.
