A Budget To Fulfill Expectations Of Common Man
Rail Budget 2016-17
Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has welcomed the Rail Budget introduced by the Union Minister for Railways Shri Suresh Prabhu in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. She said that this budget would prove to be a concrete step in the direction of transforming the Railways.
The Chief Minister said that the budget was important for fulfilling the needs and requirements of Rajasthan as well as the entire country. She said that during the present Union Government regime, allocations for Rajasthan had increased by 186 percent in comparison to the previous government. The previous government made average yearly allocations worth 682 crore rupees for the state, while in the present government this amount had increased to 1,952 crore rupees per year.
Smt. Raje said that this budget would be a good initiative for transformation of infrastructure, modernization and expansion of capacity of trains, satisfaction of passengers, sanitation and better facilities along with expansion of the rail network. She said that the Union Minister’s idea of partnering with the state governments for expansion of rail network as per the state specific requirements was a welcome move.
The Chief Minister said that this Rail Budget was the one to fullfil expectations of the common man. The missions – of making Railways accident-free, increasing speed of the trains and strengthening its financial position – included in the Budget would transform the Indian Railways.
Smt. Raje said that Rajasthan had been given due weightage in this budget. Total outlay had increased in comparison to the previous government. Outlay of about 2802 crore rupees for the state was a welcome step, she added.
