More Mega Food Parks Be Developed In Rajasthan
Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhra Raje has demanded from the Union government to establish more Mega Food Parks in Rajasthan. She said this while meeting the Union Minister for Food Processing Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday at New Delhi. Smt. Raje that this was important in view of major unexplored opportunities in food processing sector in the state and the centre should extend support for increasing investment in this regard.
The CM told the Union Minister that Rajasthan being a rich state in regard variety of agricultural produces, it could be a good region for agro-based industries. She said that fruits, flowers and spices produced here were in demand across the globe. Particularly, orange, tomato, garlic, onion and spices were being highly demanded, she added.
Smt. Raje said that investors related to food processing sector too were being invited in the Resurgent Rajasthan Summit proposed to be held in November this year at Jaipur.
Smt. Badal assured the CM that the central government would extend all possible support to Rajasthan in setting-up the mega food parks and the entrepreneurs related to food processing would be apprised with the opportunities available in the state.
Chief Secretary Shri C.S. Rajan and Principal Secretary Small Scale Industries Shri Rajeeva Swarup also accompanied the CM during the meeting.
