Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje has said that Information Technology can change live of people. Keeping this in view our government has prepared a comprehensive e-Governance architecture so that benefits of various schemes and programmes could reach directly and quickly to the beneficiaries, she said.

Smt. Raje was addressing the India Today – Digital India Conclave here on Wednesday. She said Rajasthan is, in fact, a state of Firsts when it comes to e-Governance. We were the first state in India to start Electronic Service Delivery – way back in 2004 and our efforts became the inspiration behind the Central Government initiating the Common Service Center Scheme.

In the last 2.5 years, Rajasthan has moved on the path of being a leading IT and e-Governance hub through the creation of an environment conducive to nurturing IT and enabled services.

The Chief Minister said Direct Benefit Transfer was something that Rajasthan thought of and implemented way back in 2007-08. The ‘Bhamashah Scheme’ saw its genesis when we proposed financial inclusion and women empowerment by opening a bank account and putting in seed money in the name of women head of household.

Smt. Raje said we have given effect to the fastest and widest implementation of electronic PDS, state wide GPS based monitoring of vehicles and we have also implemented a delivery gateway with more than 10 lac transactions a day. An IT workforce of more than 8,000 personnel is working to translate our dreams of a Digital Rajasthan to reality.

The Chief Minister said in Rajasthan we have a comprehensive e-Governance architecture in place. We are conscious of the fact that the IT and enabled services create jobs and hence our forward looking IT and ITES Policy. We have a Start Up Policy that supports youth in incubating ideas that can turn out to be game changers.

Smt. Raje said renowned names like IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAS, CISCO, ESRI, AUTODESK etc. partnering us in our efforts. We have full faith in partnerships and the eco-system has enough space for more partners to join us to assist and achieve the vision for a truly Digital Rajasthan.

Smt. Raje gave away Digital Trailblazers awards to Team Khushi Baby, Team Myly, Lifecare Pharmacy and Jaipur Development Authority for remarkable work in the concerned fields.

She asked team Myly to work with the state government to bring changes in the government schools. She said because of the efforts made by the state government around 9 to 11 lakh students who have shifted from government schools to private schools have come back to the government schools and the enrollment has increased.
