Rajasthan is Moving Ahead Under the Leadership of Raje: Gadkari

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje Inaugurated and laid foundation stone for development works of worth Rs. 2100 crore at Suratgarh on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje on this occasion said development works are taken up keeping in view the requirements of the people of the region. Staging dharna or protest with political motif by some people shall not be accepted as such people have nothing to do with development. “Today will be remembered as the development day in the history of Sri Ganganagar district, she said. She said apart from development works of worth Rs. 2105 crore taken up today, development works of Rs. 1580 crore have already been done in Sri Ganganagar district. These development works show that state government is committed for the development of every district of our state.

The Chief Minister said there were 7000 kilometer long National Highways during the previous government but now the state has 9326 kilometer long National Highways and Rajasthan is on the top in National Highways.

Smt. Raje said the surplus water of Ravi, Beas, Satluj and Ghaggar washed away as a flood water will be utilised and the state government has decided to start Re-Structuring Project for Desert Area after re-structuring of Indira Gandhi Canal System. She said re-aligning work of the main canal and branches of Indira Gandhi Canal in Haryana and Rajasthan. She said additional water for 1, 81, 618 hectare CCA will be available for Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer district from this project of worth Rs. 3264 crore.

Union Road Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari on this occasion said till the end of December 2018 the state will have road of worth Rs. One Lac crore. He said under Bharat Mala scheme 253 kilometer long new highway will be constructed from Sri Ganganagar to Karanpur, Gajsinghpur, Raisingh Nagar, Rawala and Dantor. He also announced sanction of new roads in Dantor, Khajuwala, Nachana and Jaisalmer. He said 1312.70 kilometer new roads have been sanctioned in Rajasthan and the construction of these roads will commence in the next six months.

Union Minister announced that Rs. 16,000 crore will be spent on Jal Marg Project to connect Jaisalmer, Barmer and other districts with Kandla Port. He also announced sanction of Rs. 180 crore for 18 kilometer long Hanumangarh Bypass, Rs. 300 crore for 35 km long Sri Ganganagar to Pakka Saharna road, 163 crore for Sri Gangangar Bypass.

Chief Minister Smt. Raje tied Rakhi to Union Road Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari and PWD Minister Shri Yunus Khan. She appealed to the people that she was there with Rakhi for all and in return she expected their love and affection. Smt. Raje also tied Rakhi to common people.

Water Resource Minister Dr. Rampratap, Minister of State for Labour Shri Surendra Pal Singh TT, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives were present during the function.
