College Lecturers to Get Designation of Asst. Prof., Associate Prof. and Professor
CM Makes Important Announcements at RUCTA Convention
Fulfilling the long time pending demand of college lecturers of Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday announced that the post of college lecturer will now be designated as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. Necessary amendment will be made in college education service rules for this.
Addressing the 55th State Level Convention of Rajasthan University and College Teachers Association (RUCTA) on Wednesday at Rajasthan University the Chief Minister said now after starting career as a college lecturer they will get good opportunities for promotion. She made several important announcements and assured the University and College teachers that other problems related to higher education will be considered sympathetically by the state government.
The Chief Minister said all government colleges in the state will have Wi-Fi facility. The process for setting up Wi-Fi at government colleges of Dholpur, Baran, Sikar and Jaipur has started while government girls colleges of Baran and Jhalawar will also have Wi-fi facility, she said.
Smt. Raje on this occasion said process will start soon to fill up more than 600 posts of lecturers expected to be vacant till December 2018. It will also be ascertained that no post of lecturers remains vacant in colleges. Necessary amendments have been made in Rules to fill up 129 posts of librarians and 148 posts of Physical Education Teachers in colleges and these posts shall be filled up through RPSC, she said.
The Chief Minister said during last three years our government has opened 28 new colleges, promoted 5 colleges, 14 new subjects have been started in various government colleges at PG level while new subjects at graduation level have been started in 14 colleges. Twenty six thousand seats have been increased in colleges, she added. She called upon teachers to take up teaching as a mission.
Smt. Raje said employment cells will be set up in private colleges on the line of employment cells set up in government colleges. She called upon teachers to adopt villages and take up research on Adarsh & Digital village. She also released the Souvenir and special edition of the Monthly Magazine of RUCTA.
Higher Education Minister Smt. Kiran Maheshwari said it is the duty of all of us to improve the education quality. Many colleges in the state have received NAAC grading and teachers have played big role in this achievement.
