Council’s Suggestions Important for State’s Development

Chief Minister Advisory Council Meeting

Home Minister Shri Gulab Chand Kataria has said that efforts made by Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje taking into account important suggestions of the CM’s Advisory Council (CMAC) have started delivering good in terms of development of the state. Rajasthan was progressing fast on the path of development, he said. The Minister was chairing 3rd meeting of the CMAC on the directions received from the CM.

Prior to this also, Shri Kataria, on the directions of Smt. Raje, chaired a high-level meeting with the state administration and army officials to review the situation emerging out of the surgical strikes by the Indian armed forces against terrorists in Pak-Occupied-Kashmir and issued necessary directions. Smt. Raje could not attend this meeting due to her illness.

Chairing the CMAC meeting at the Chief Minister Office on Saturday, Shri Kataria said that as a result of long-term development planning, the state was progressing ahead in various sectors like skill development, education, health and water self-sufficiency through Mukhyamantri Jal Swavalamban Abhiyan (MJSA). Also, the state was focusing on investment in infrastructure development and energy requirements.

The Home Minister said that innovative projects like Bhamashah Women Empowerment Scheme, Health Insurance, Annapurna Yojna were being appreciated in the country and abroad. Rajasthan was the first state to make toilet to be compulsory for contesting Panchayat elections which resulted in construction of over four lakh toilets. He said that skill development programmes initiated in the state had also been successful as they helped in linking the youth with job opportunities.

Vice Chairperson of the CMAC Shri C.S. Rajan said that the Council and its sub-groups had held 25 meetings, during which several important development-related suggestions were given. Following these suggestions, various schemes and projects concerning urban development, education, tourism, agriculture, health, infrastructure, industrial development sectors took shape. He said that the CMAC was also planning how to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and how to ensure investments through different market funding sources such as PPP and crowd sourcing.

During the meeting, Principal Secretary Agriculture Smt. Neelkamal Darbari gave presentation on the proposed Global Agri Tech Meet-2016, Principal Secretary Energy Shri Sanjay Malhotra on Agricultural Power Reforms, Principal Secretary LSG Dr. Manjit Singh on Smart Cities and the Chairperson of Rajasthan River Basin and Water Resources Authority Dr. Shriram Vedire gave presentation on Urban MJSA. Secretary Finance (Revenue) Shri Praveen Gupta apprised the gathering on the GST issue, while Secretary Finance (Budget) Shri Naveen Mahajan presented the idea of Removal of Plan and Non-plan Distinction in the state budget.

In the second session, the members of CMAC Smt. Naina Lal Kidwai, Smt. Urvashi Shahni, Shri Mohandas Pai and Prof. Radhey Shyam Sharma gave presentations on Sanitation Work in Rajasthan, Achieving Quality Education in Government Schools: Rajasthan Government Shows the Way, Preparing India for the 4th Industrial Age and Need of Regulation on Sale of AYUSH Drugs in Rajasthan: An Opportunity to Generate Employment, respectively.

A member of CMAC and the CMD of Havell’s India Ltd Shri Anil Raj Gupta gave a video presentation on the CSR initiatives of his company. The Home Minister Shri Kataria distributed certificates to the Principals of five government schools of Alwar district where Havell’s India has constructed bio-toilets.

On this occasion, the Members of the Council of Ministers, Chief Secretary Shri O.P. Meena, Members of CMAC, additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and other senior officers of different departments were present.

मुख्यमंत्री सलाहकार परिषद् की तीसरी बैठक शनिवार को मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय के कॉन्फ्रेंस हॉल में प्रारम्भ हुई। बैठक की अध्यक्षता गृहमंत्री श्री गुलाबचंद कटारिया ने की। मुख्य सचिव श्री ओ.पी. मीणा, सीएमएसी के डिप्टी चैयरमेन श्री सी.एस. राजन, सीएमएसी के सदस्य, राज्य मंत्री परिषद् के सदस्य, विभिन्न विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव, प्रमुख शासन सचिव, शासन सचिव एवं परिषद् के अधिकारी उपस्थित थे।
