Green Buildings Should Be Promoted
Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhra Raje has urged for promotion of green building concept in order to add new dimension to urban development. She suggested for incentives for green buildings and rainwater harvesting structures. She directed the officials to focus on cleanliness & sanitation and designing master plans of towns as per GIS pattern.
Smt. Raje was chairing the meeting of Urban Development & Housing and Local-self Governance departments on Friday. She asked the officials for simplification of land use change regulations for benefit of the common man and suggested for drafting rules for conservation of heritage buildings to ensure better protection of our historical legacy. She directed the officials to follow Amrut Yojna guidelines while preparing Master Plans of four cities by consulting expert firms for this.
To ease lives of local residents in Prithviraj Nagar area, the CM asked urban development officials to hold camps for regularization of well-populated colonies in the region. She said that the pace of development works of the Ring Road project be expedited and early decision be taken on project for beautification of Dravyavati River.
Smt. Raje asked for cleanliness drive in urban areas under the Swachh Bharat Mission and demanded for effective ban on use of polythene bags. She also emphasized on meeting the target of construction of toilets in urban body regions. She said that all development works in the cities selected under the Smart Cities and Amrut Yojna be completed in timebound manner. She further directed on regular and effective disposal of waste and sewerage works in various townships.
Additional Chief Secretary Urban Development Shri Ashok Jain and Principal Secretary Local-self Governance Dr. Manjit Singh gave presentations on the progress and achievements of their departments and shared details about status of implementation of various announcements made by the CM, other innovations and affordable housing scheme.
Chief Secretary Shri CS Rajan, JDA Commissioner Shri Shikhar Agarwal, Metro CMD Shri Ashwini Bhagat, Project Director RUIDP Shri Naveen Mahajan, Director Local Self Governance Shri Purushottam Biyani, Managing Director JCTCSL Shri Naresh Kumar Sharma and other officials were present in the meeting.
