Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme To Kick Off, Various Programmes To Be Organized At State and District Level

The State Cabinet in its meeting on Tuesday finalized the outlines of a fortnight long celebrations on the completion of two years of the state government. The second anniversary of the state government will be celebrated with simplicity. The cabinet also gave approval to various other decisions including launching of Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme in December, constitution of Rajasthan Rajya Vidhyut Vitran Vitt Nigam Ltd. to ensure quality supply of electricity to consumers and to improve financial condition of DISCOMs.

Talking to media persons after the cabinet meeting, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Rajendra Rathore said on December 13, Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje will pay tribute to martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti in the morning and after that she will inaugurate the state level exhibition. A huge public meeting will be held on December 13 where new schemes will be launched. State level cultural programme will be organised in the evening. Employment fairs will be organised from December 1 to 31st and special Gram Sabhas will be held in all Gram Panachayats on 9th December to select unemployed youths who will be provided employment oriented training through RMoL. Around 1.25 lakh youth will be benefitted by this decision.

Shri Rathore informed that minister in-charge will visit their respective districts from December 9 to 11 to generate awareness about the achievements of the state government. Minister in-charge of the concerned district will also participate in foundation stone laying and launching of various development works. District level exhibitions will be organised from 15 to 18 December. On December 20 cultural evenings will be organised at district level where folk artists will show their talent.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister informed that abiding by the budget announcement of Chief Minister in the budget 2014-15, it has been decided to launch Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme in the state. One crore selected families (Around 67 percent) will be benefitted by the scheme. Decision has been taken to constitute Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency (SHAA) headed by Chief Secretary for the successful implementation of the scheme. An Executive Committee will also be constituted headed by Principal Secretary Medical & Health.

Shri Rathore informed that door-to-door survey for 1 crore 31 lakh families under Arogya Rajasthan Health Survey Campaign had started on October 10, 2015 out of which survey for 58 lakh families has been completed and the remaining families will be covered in the next ten days. He said health checkup camps will be organised under Arogya Rajasthan in 9000 Gram Panchayats. E-Health cards of every individual will be prepared to keep database of health information.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister informed that with the objective to provide financial assistance to DISCOMs ‘Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Vitaran Vitt Nigam Ltd.’ will be constituted. It will help power distribution companies to get loan on cheaper rates and help DISCOMs to become financially self-sufficient.

Shri Rathore informed that according to notification issued on January 24, 2011 currently 30 percent reservation is available for women in the state services for direct recruitment out of which 8 percent is for widow and 2 percent reservation is for women of abandoned category. He said currently provision is that if suitable women candidates in these two categories are not available, vacancies can be filled from women in other categories and by male candidates also. Now provision has been made for interchange in widow and abandoned category if suitable woman candidate is not available for vacant posts in these two categories. In case suitable women candidate is not available from other category of woman, the posts can be filled by available male candidates. Service Rules are being amended to implement this decision, he said.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister informed that the state government has taken a policy decision to close down Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur as the state government found that no land allotment was made and there was no process of admission initiated. He said now it will be run as the Ambedkar Peeth Centre of Excellence to provide better research and academic facilities.
