Show Commitment To Bridge Gap Between Government and The People- Chief Minister

Bikaner, June 19. Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje said that the Sarkar Aapke Dwar, in which public meeting and the cabinet meetings were being arranged at divisional level, was a unique initiative by the state government to win the trust of the people. She was addressing the inaugural meeting with her cabinet colleagues and senior officials during this ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ campaign in Bikaner Division to be held till June 30 at Rajasthan Veterinary University Campus on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said that this historical step was taken by her government to reach to the last person, who was standing at the periphery and, who had failed to have access to the administration since past 66 years of independence. She asked the officials to give top priority to the public grievances and work with full commitment in order to bridge the gap between the government and the general public.

Smt. Raje said that the government had a very good experience during the first such campaign in Bharatpur division in February this year. New ideas were envisaged to redress the issues and give relief to the people. That campaign did not limit as 10 days-affair and follow-ups on the public problems were being carried out at different level even today, she added.

The Chief Minister stated that witnessing success of the Bharatpur visit, the government had now reached Bikaner. During that tour to Bharatpur, the gist of the problems of the entire division was before us. With that, time-bound development plan was prepared on-spot and accordingly important decisions were take in the cabinet meeting at Bharatpur. Implementation of such decision too had started, she said. Likewise, the government would reach all the divisions and work of time-bound development plan.

Smt. Raje said that the timing of this visit to Bikaner division was knowingly decided to be during the scorching heat, when temperatures were fluctuating between 45 and 50 degrees. It was for the government to have a real taste of the grievances of this region and offer relief to the public. People of the region were facing the issues of drinking water, power supplies etc. The government should not always run from air-conditioned rooms, but from the ground and that’s why this event was scheduled in this weather, the CM added.

During this visit, the Chief Minister would herself visit all four districts of the division between June 24 and 29.  She would make surprise visits to any city, town, village or hamlet. While taking feedback during the meeting, she observed that development works had been completed in the entire division in terms of roads or sanitation etc, in view of this campaign. “Entire division had been polished and I wish this shine would not diminish after the government left the region,” she said

The Chief Minister fixed the responsibility of the collectors of the four districts to forward the cases received during public hearings to respective departments. Chief Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi emphasized that public hearing was an important part of the campaign and not a single complainant should go unheard.

For those persons who were willing to participate in public hearing would be given preference if they had a complaint number in advance. Such complaints would be registered at Rajasthan Sampark Kendras at panchayat, block or district level. Grievances could also be registered through the website www.sampark.rajasthan.gov.in   or Google Play App etc or by calling helpline number 1800&180&6127. Separate applications could be sent by the same person for relief in regard to different departments.
