Centre and State governments to do to monthly review of Refinery

Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje and the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan attended the first video conference with the officials of the state and the central government on Tuesday to review implementation status of the Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex in Barmer. This review conference would now be a held every month to ensure proper monitoring and time bound implementation of the project.

Smt. Raje said that all preparations and works related to the refinery were finalized during the conference. She said that all the approvals required for the project such as environmental clearance, Public Investment Board (PIB) clearance and approval of the Union Cabinet would be completed very soon.

The CM said that parallel works for setting-up of refinery were going on simultaneously. A Task Force had been constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri OP Meena for regular monitoring of these works. Senior officers of the state government’s respective departments constitute this Task Force. This entity would ensure timely availability of all required necessities and supplies such as land, water, power etc, she added.

Chief Secretary Shri OP Meena, Union Petroleum Secretary Shri KD Tripathi, CMD of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Shri MK Surana, Joint Secretary Refineries Shri Sandeep Paundrik, the State’s Principal Secretary Finance Shri PS Mehra, Principal Secretary Mines & Petroleum Smt. Aparna Arora and senior officers were present.
